Tips to Make More Time for
Exercise…
How to make time for exercise is a
question many of us ask. We want to get fit & be healthy but between work,
family, chores, and friends, knowing how to make time for exercise is a
challenge. Sometimes it is just hard to find the time, especially when your
life is already packed to the brim with other commitments &
responsibilities. Luckily I have put together these tips that will teach you
how to make time for exercise to help.
SKIP LUNCH
Instead of heading out to lunch with
your fellow employees, take your hour lunch break & work out at the gym.
Many people who have wondered how to make time for exercise learned that this
technique works. We spend so much time waiting for lunch at a restaurant or
drive-thru. That time could be better spent at the gym or on a brisk walk.
However, you still need to eat. Pack a sandwich or protein shake for lunch.
MARK IT ON THE CALENDAR
Just as you schedule your meetings,
doctor appointments, and dates, schedule your weekly work outs. As with your
other commitments, do not change it to make room for something else. You would
not skip the meeting with your boss, so do not skip the meeting with your body
either.
INVITE A FRIEND
If you are like me, you hate to let
people down. If you want to know how to make time for exercise, invite a friend
to work out with you. Instead of coffee, have your friend meet you for yoga or
spin class. She will be expecting you & you won’t want to disappoint.
MAKE IT A FAMILY THING
Family time is important & so is
working out. Why not combine the two? Get your family together & take a
walk or go play soccer at the park. Your kids will love the extra interaction
with you & you will get in a little cardio.
GET UP EARLIER
If you still can not figure out how
to make time for exercise, why not try waking up an hour to a half hour
earlier. This may mean going to bed earlier too. If your day is already jam
packed then you need to make extra time. Waking up earlier & working out
first thing in the morning is a good way to get in a work out.
SMALLER WORKOUT
Another option is smaller workouts.
If you really push yourself & give it your all you can get a good workout
in 30 minutes. The key is you have to go all out. Try circuit training for a
full workout in a crunched amount of time.
BREAK IT UP
Although it is best to get your
workout in all at once, you can break it up throughout the day. Aim for 15 to
20 minutes in the morning & another 15 to 20 minutes after dinner.
Learning how to make time for
exercise & how to stop making excuses why you can not is very important. If
you have the determination, you can easily learn how to make time for exercise.
We all need to get a little more active & healthy.
